Results of the investigation

The investigation concludes with a report. The draft report is submitted to the parties concerned and the FOCA. The AAIB accepts comments and objections for a period of 60 days.

The AAIB reviews the report, as well as any comments from the parties concerned and then decides on the content of the report. This new text is again submitted to the parties concerned and the FOCA, who then have another 30 days in which to submit an application to the Federal Aircraft Accident Review Board for the report to be checked.

If no examination by the Review Board has been requested, the investigation report of the AAIB becomes the final report and is published. If a request for examination has been submitted to the Review Board, the AAIB publishes the investigation report on the internet.

The FAAC consists of five members who do not belong to the AAIB. It checks that the report is complete and conclusive and then issues the final report.

The investigation reports are only published on the internet, the final reports are published on the internet and sent to the subscribers in a printed version.
